As an alternative to drag & drop, the context menu of the card can be used to change an attribute of a ticket via a drop-down menu. This makes it easier to move tickets to a distant column if the Kanban view has many columns.

As soon as the green progress bar is no longer visible, the corresponding ticket attribute is changed to the value of the column. The ticket now initially appears above a gray line in the so called drop zone and the sort symbol for the column has been replaced by an update symbol. This allows you to find cards that you have just changed. By clicking on the refresh symbol, the ticket is sorted according to the sort order in the column.

Now drag the card to the target column and release the left mouse button. A green progress bar will now appear. As long as the green bar is still displayed, you can pick up the card again with the mouse without changing the ticket. This makes it possible to pick up accidentally dropped tickets again and drop them in the correct column.

Click on a card, hold down the left mouse button and drag a card. When dragging, OTRS checks which columns are possible based on your permissions and other system side restrictions (e.g. ACLs). Columns that are not possible are marked with a red background color.
